B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) is a public university. The establishment of this institute dates to Jan 18, 1993 which means it is not sufficiently old to give you the benefit of experience. The Institute has recently become an Autonomous Institute. B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences is only 2 decades old and not much can be inferred about its academic standards but it is an outcrop of Nepal-India co-operations so, has some historical significance.
B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences consists of departments for basic medicine and clinicals along with a 700-bedded teaching hospital. The Faculty of Medicine, the College of Dental Surgery, the School of Public Health and Community Medicine and the College of Nursing are the main colleges under the roof of B.P. Koirala University.
The Bachelors of Medcine and Bachelors of Surgery duration is four and half years, and one-year of compulsory Community Oriented Residential Rotating Internship (in-house training) for valid MBBS course. The Internship has to be completed under BKHIHS’ Teaching District Hospital and Central Teaching Hospital. A good thing is that the students opting for MBBS degree here would not need to undergo the process of learning foreign language due to cultural similarity and Nepal-India being on good terms is one of the pros of being at Nepal.

- As the university is just 2 decades old, the exposure it has of teaching medical sciences can in no way be compared to the universities holding above hundred years of experience. Doing MBBS from such a University can’t be recommendable.

Admission Deadline for B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences
For admission in the Nepali Universities, the timing of application is crucial. Generally, the right time for application is September of every year (Tentative). Direct admissions can be obtained by the NEET qualified students for 20% seats. B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences admission requirements includes a score of 70% marks in PCB in Class XII if you are a CBSE student. If you are from a State Board, the required score goes up to 85%. Also, if you are willing to take admission for the batch 2022, 10th should be passed in 2018 or 2019 and 12th in 2020 or 2021 of course, you need to have qualified NEET 2021.
