Gomel State Medical University
It was established in the year 1990. It is the one and only purely English medium Institute in Belarus. As the university is officially recognized by world health organization (WHO), it is considered to be one of the modern and advanced universities in Belarus. Currently the university has 3500 students, 600 highly qualified professors (within 34 departments), 5 research laboratories, 18 large well equipped clinics and a central research library. In terms of clinical base, the university is considered to be the best in Belarus. The university has developed more than 2000 doctors, since its inception.

Life In Belarus
The climate of Belarus is quite moderate, associated with cool humid winters and warm summers. The average temperature of Belarus varies from -4.50c to-80c whereas in July the average temperature varies from +170c to +18.50c. Sub-zero temperature is experienced by some parts of Belarus for more than a third of the year. Annual rainfall in Belarus occurs between the months of April to month of October. The annual rainfall ranges from 600-700 mm. Belarus also experiences 75-125 days of snowfall every year, the snowfall varies from 15-30 cm.

Admission In GSMU
As Belarusian embassies are not available in some of the countries, a Belarusian VISA is issued to the student on his/her arrival At Minsk airport in Belarus. A student is automatically issued a VISA if he/she is invited to study in Belarus upon presentation of all required documents as per the guidelines of the university. The documents required for admission of a student in GSMU are:
- Certificate of Secondary Education.
- A valid passport of the student.
- Birth certificate of the student.
- Student’s medical fitness documents.
