Founded in 1919, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LUHS) shows pride being the largest higher education institution for biomedical sciences in Lithuania. Primarily, the journey of LUHS began as the Medical Academy of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and after a few years it became “Faculty of Medicine” of University of Lithuania.

In 2010, the Lithuanian Veterinary Academy and Kaunas University of Medicine joined hands to form Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.
